ABBEVILLE — Tomorrow the Vermilion Parish School Board will consider motionsto remove the President Laura LeBeouf and Vice-President Kibbie Pillette of the school board. Both motions were called by member Chris Gautreaux.

These motions come after last month's decision to place Superintendent Jerome Puyau on paid leave. Since the meeting last month, Puyau has been going to work everyday.

Now some in the community are coming to Puyau's defense by launching a Go-Fund-Me page to pay for his legal expenses.

Abbeville retired Assistant United States Attorney Thomas Thompson created the page asking that the public "engages" in the issue.

"Let him get on with the business of running the district, improving students test scores, improving our school system from top to bottom," Thompson said.

He says all money donated will not go to the superintendent, but instead directly to the attorney.
