In St. Mary Parish, a vigil was held to honor the life of a 25-year-old woman who was found shot in her car last weekend.

Karlnita Marks, a mother of three, was found in her car in an area between Big Four Corners and Baldwin.

Dozens of family members, friends, and members of the community are gathering to remember Marks.

The vigil is being held by New Chapter PUSH and the Iberia Christian Ministerial Federal.

Marks was found shot on Saturday, May 30. Deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office say they do not currently have a suspect. Marks was transported to a local hospital where she later died.

KATC's Katie Easter was at the vigil and will have more tonight at 10.
