A St. Martinville man has been arrested and is facing attempted second degree murder charges following a disturbance Saturday morning.

SMPSO spokesperson Major Ginny Higgins said Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance with weapons in the 1100 block of Martin Dautreuil Road in Catahoula. Upon arrival, officers learned that Lester Thomas, Jr., 25, following a disturbance at the residence, had shot at an occupied vehicle in the driveway of the home. The occupant of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

After an investigation, Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Thomas and he was arrested on charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.

Thomas has been booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and no bond has been set at this time.
