Man arrested after crashing into Breaux Bridge home

Rusty Veronie, 26, of Breaux Bridge, was arrested on Tuesday night after crashing into a home in Breaux Bridge.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a single vehicle crash at a residence in the 1400 block of Zin Zin Road in Breaux Bridge.

Upon arriving, the deputy learned that the driver of a white Ford F-150 was traveling on Zin Zin Road, when he traveled off the road for unknown reasons and struck a residence.

The driver, Rusty Veronie, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The home was occupied at the time of the crash, but no injuries were reported.

Following Veronie's release from the hospital, he was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Careless Operation, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.
