Flood Warnings in effect for St. Martin, St. Mary and Iberia parishes

River Flood Warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service for Iberia, St. Mary and St. Martin parishes.

For St. Mary Parish, there is a river flood warning in effect until it is canceled.
At 10 a.m. Sunday, stage was 7 feet in Morgan City. Minor flooding is occuring and moderate flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 6 feet. At 7 feet, buildings at the foot of Ann Street on the river side of the floodwall will flood as the water overtops the Rio Oil Company dock. Buildings on the river side of the Berwick Floodwall will flood. River traffic restrictions will be stritcly enforced. Backwater flooding could potentially impact areas around Lake Palourde and Stephensville. At flood stage, the city dock will be under water; water will cover the lower end of Bellview Fron Street in Berwick. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger river current, and stafety rules will be strictly enforced by the U.S. Coast Guard.

In Iberia Parish, the river flood warning is in effect until it is canceled for the Atchafalaya River above Butte Larose. At 7 a.m. Sunday the stage was 19.9 feet. No flooding is occuring, but minor flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 20 feet.
