A Cecilia man has been arrested and is facing third degree rape and other drug charges after an investigation by St. Martin Parish deputies.
Deputies responded to a report of an alleged sexual assault on Monday, March 9, at 11:30 p.m. After an investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Colby Calais, 49, along with a search warrant for a home on Grand Anse Hwy in Cecilia.
Investigators found Calais inside the residence along with methamphetamine, marijuana, and a firearm. He was arrested and charged with one count each of Third Degree Rape, Possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine), Possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana), Possession of Firearm or Carrying Concealed Weapon by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies.
He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and as of this writing, a bond has not been set.
