Arrests made in Breaux Bridge golf cart theft

Two Breaux Bridge men have been arrested for allegedly stealing golf carts from a residence on Mills Highway.

St. Martin Parish Deputies responded to a reported burglary in the 1400 block of Mills Highway on Tuesday. Two males were seen on surveillance video stealing two golf carts from a residence, according to a spokesperson with the sheriff's office.

After an investigation, the two individuals were identified as Timothy Wayne Dupuis, 27, and Leroy James Batiste, 27. Both were arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. Dupuis is facing one count of simple burglary and one count of possession of Schedule I substances (marijuana). Batiste is facing one count of illegal possession of stolen things and one count of possession of schedule IV substances (Alprazolam).

No bond has been set.
