The St. Landry Chamber of Commerce is hosting Soirée Royale, a culinary competition and tasting event, in celebration of the Chamber's 100th year.

The event will take place on Monday, September 16, at the Evangeline Downs Event Center at 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will go to funding the Chamber's annual scholarship program and promotes the Culture of Culinary Excellence in St. Landry Parish.

Chamber President Raquel Manuel said, "We are going big in our 100th year! We are keeping with the tradition of having one of the best culinary events in the state and adding some extra spice with a very special VIP experience."

Celebrity judges from across the state will award first place winners for each of the seven culinary categories. Guests are encouraged to sample each dish and vote for the acclaimed "People's Choice Award."

This year's event is expected to have more than 30 chefs from across the state with more than 40 different dishes.

"We have had so much support from the community every year and we are so happy to be able to give back to our youth and future leaders," added Manuel.

All guests will enjoy complimentary wine and beer tasting from local vendors.
