The St. Landry Chamber of Commerce hosted a Grand Opening celebration for their newly redesigned office today.
The event featured meet and greets, tours of the office, door prizes, refreshments, and a sneak peek of an all-new Chamber publication. The Ribbon Cutting closed out the Chamber's 100th year celebration.
The Chamber celebrated 100 years as an organization in 2019. That year saw the Chamber receive the Chamber of the Year award, multiple recognitions from the Governor's and Lt. Governor's Office, staff expansion, and more.
The final step in the celebration was the facelift of the Chamber building, which is located in the historic district of downtown Opelousas.
"We feel this is the perfect way to end an incredible year as an organization and begin a new chapter for the next 100 years," said Raquella Manuel, President, and CEO of the St. Landry Chamber. "In a way, this has been the longest-running project of the year as we have slowly made improvements and updates since last January and have finished the biggest pieces in the last month."
"The drive for this organization is to provide a high-quality return of investment to its members, we pride ourselves on that," said Manuel. "Our members have responded ten-fold, they deserve an organizational building and office that they can be proud of, that represents the redevelopment their doing within their own businesses, and in the community."
The Chamber office is located at 109 West Vine Street in Opelousas. New hours of operation for the office are from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. with a lunch hour between 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
