Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas is marking a significant milestone - its 100 year anniversary.
Events will be happening throughout the year to honor the church's history.
Church officials say the celebration is not only for parishioners, but for members of the local and surrounding community as well.
Some of those events include the 27th Annual Creole Festival and a trip to the Holy Land in May.
Lambert Lein, a priest at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, explained, "People realize that this community, this church has had a huge impact on the lives that live in this area, whether they're Catholic or not, because of the presence of the Holy Ghost here."
