In honor of 100 years of praise, Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas will begin a year-long celebration with a kick-off event on Sunday, October 13.
Mass begins at Sunday at 11:00 am and will be followed by entertainment from Soul Express Brass Band, Mike Broussard and Nu Edition Zydeco, as well as other outdoor and indoor activities
Marking a century of spiritual influence in the community, Holy Ghost Catholic Church will host celebratory activities each month throughout the coming year.
In October 2020, the church will host a Eucharistic Celebration to round out their 100 years.
The year-long celebration is open to church members and surrounding communities.
The Church is also organizing a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The trip will take place from May 11- 22, 2020.
In November, the church will also host the 27th annual Creole Festival. The Festival runs November 1, 2, and 3 on the Holy Ghost Catholic Church campus on North Union Street in Opelousas.
