UDPATE: Power has been restored in Port Barre, according to Police Chief Deon Boudreaux.
Almost the entire town of Port Barre is without electricity, according to Police Chief Deon Boudreaux.
Officials don't know the cause of the outage, and Entergy has been notified. Entergy's outage map says power is expected to be restored around 11:30 Wednesday night.
Chief Boudreaux says the police department's phone lines are down as well. Residents should 911 for emergencies.
Around 1,300 customers are affected.
