Three Lafayette residents arrested in connection with Lake Charles homicide

Three Lafayette residents were arrested this week in connection with an October 1st shooting in Lake Charles.

After three new arrest warrants were obtained, Brandon Jerome Jefferson, AKA "bleek," 24, of Lafayette was identified and located in Lafayette Parish on October 7th. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail on active warrants along with the warrant through the Lake Charles Police Department for 2nd Degree Murder.

Judge Canaday issued a bond of $1.25 million.

On October 8th, warrants were obtained for two females identified during the investigation.

The females were located on October 8th and transported back to Lake Charles and later booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.

Akeala Ellis, 35, of Lafayette was arrested on the Lake Charles Police Department warrant for Accessories After the Fact of 2nd Degree Murder. A bond was set for $150,000.

Odessa Chavis, 29, of Lafayette was arrested on the same charges and was issued a bond of $75,000. Odessa Chavis, 29, of Lafayette was arrested on the same charges and was issued a bond of $75,000.

The Lafayette Police Department's Patrol shift Bravo assisted the Lake Charles Police Department during the course of the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and police say additional arrests are imminent.
