Kids in Lafayette got the chance today to visit Santa Claus at Our Lady of Lourdes Women's and Children's Hospital Kids Specialty Center.
Children were able to write a letter to Santa and deliver it to him at today's event.
After arriving in Lafayette from the North Pole, Santa and Mrs. Claus were escorted to the hospital by deputies with LPSO and the Lafayette Fire Department.
As the lights and sirens made their way down Ambassador, kids lined up outside the hospital waiting to get a glimpse of the red suit.
Children and families took pictures with Santa, enjoyed refreshments, and got to tell him what was on their wish list this year.
Around 7:30, Santa and Mrs. Claus bade the children farewell as they gathered up the bags of letters and boarded the fire engine once again.
Trevis Badeaux, Senior Marketing Specialist with Women's and Children's, said "The kids' reactions are always an interesting thing to see, and then also Santa himself gets a big kick out of seeing the kids. It kind of reminds him of why he does what he does all year long behind the scenes and before his big night."
