Lafayette Police are investigating a fatal hit and run tonight involving a bicyclist on the I-49 Frontage Road near East Pont des Mouton Road.
According to Lafayette Police Spokesperson Bridgette Dugas, the cyclist was struck by a vehicle that then fled. The cyclist was transported to a local hospital where they died from their injuries.
Police have no information on the vehicle at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation.
