Many local businesses in the area have been coming together during a time when a small community needs it most. Great Harvest Bread in Lafayette, decided to make a kind gesture by creating a care package for those who might need some assistance.

“We’re giving out care packages, which is basically two loafs of bread with some peanut butter and jelly. Just a little something, that could maybe make sandwiches for a week for a family," said store manager, Hannah Griffin.

The act of kindness has received a lot of great reaction and support for the cause.

“People are just so grateful, which is so rewarding to us as customer service reps. I really think a lot of people have been showing out more and I think our roots in Lafayette are showing in this hard time," said Great Harvest employee, Sophia Broussard.

The process to receive a care package is as simple as sending a message on the companies Facebook page.

“They can message us on Facebook and we will get a care package ready for them. You can call the bakery, we have had a few technical difficulties with the phone, but call in if you can. You could also walk in and get one," said Griffin.
