A Lafayette woman is helping her community by providing hot meals to those in need.
Wanda Clemons, with local non-profit Wanda's Blessings, decided to prepare more than 100 meals to distribute to homeless individuals in the Lafayette area.
She set up at Shoney's on Evangeline Thruway Thursday morning and served meals from noon to 1 p.m.
"My heart goes out to them. There's always someone that is caring about them and making sure there is a plate of food in front of them sometime or another," said Clemons.
