In Acadiana, some are taking the protest against racial injustice to the Confederate statue in downtown Lafayette.

A silent protest was held near the Alfred Mouton statue on Wednesday.

The organizer says he plans to be there every day at noon for the next two weeks.

"It does not honor the man," explained Kenneth Broussard. "It honors a lost cause, those who fought that lost cause have to admit it is lost."
