In Lafayette, a pastor is continuing to practice his faith through the COVID-19 pandemic with a noon prayer service.

Those in attendance will practice social distancing by staying in their vehicles.

The pastor says that although the congregation can't gather inside the church, they can still worship.

"I've been doing a noon day prayer. Instead of going into the church I wanted to be outside because we can't go and gather in the church in a large gathering because we are the church," explained Robert Johnson, pastor of Louisiana Avenue United Methodist Church. "I wanted to just give a prayer from the front doors of the church, letting the people know that we can have church anywhere."
