Lafayette Mayor-President Elect Josh Guillory has announced that Jim Doré will serve as Chairman of the transition team.

Doré will guide the efforts to identify and appoint key personnel for the soon-to-be administration. His duties will include coordinating details for the transition team and timeline as well as advising Guillory on placement of department directors, according to a press release.

"There's a lot of work to do in a short period of time, and I don't take that lightly. With Mr. Doré serving as the Chairman of my transition, I am confident that we will have a very productive and smooth transition to office," Guillory stated. "I am grateful to have Mr. Doré's business expertise and experience in identifying talent during this critical time. His role will allow my Administration to hit the ground running come the New Year."

Guillory's immediate task is to appoint directors for each department of LCG to advance his administration's priorities.

"I was elected to address our infrastructure needs, eliminate the barriers to doing business with LCG, and attract and retain jobs and residents to Lafayette Parish. That's no small order, and I will ensure that I have the right people in place to make that happen," Guillory stated.

Doré will begin vetting candidates for the Departments of Community Development, Development and Planning, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works.

"We have some incredible talent within the halls of local government and out in the community. I have some ideas about who will serve in leadership capacities, but I believe that an open call for these roles will leverage the greatest potential of my Administration," he continued.

Guillory will be inaugurated as Lafayette Mayor-President on January 6.
