A man accused in a fatal shooting on Lilly Street in Lafayette has been indicted by a Lafayette Parish grand jury.
24-year-old Deontre Devon Batiste of Lafayette was indicted on Wednesday on a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of 36-year-old John Cedric Willis.
The shooting occurred on July 4, 2019, on Lilly Street in Lafayette. Four others were arrested in connection to the case.
Willis was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds outside of a home in the early morning hours of July 4.
