Saturday, one Lafayette resident got to celebrate her birthday with a special twist.
Ellie Grace, who has Down Syndrome, has not been able to get out of the house lately and see her family and friends! But she hasn't let that stop her. She wanted everyone to dance for her birthday, her family says, so they arranged for a birthday with a (literal) twist.
Her mother says that since Ellie wasn't able to have a traditional birthday party this year, she asked her mom if they could get everyone from the neighborhood to get outside and do the Hokey Pokey.
"People can still social distance, get a little exercise, get a little Vitamin D, and wish her a happy birthday!"

The family is encouraging neighbors in the area of 200 Montgomery Drive to get outside, see their neighbors, and dance the Hokey Pokey to help celebrate Ellie's 13th birthay.
