First World Food Day & Fall Festival held Saturday at Lafayette Farmer's Market

The first World Food Day Fall Fest was held Saturday at the Lafayette Farmers & Artisans Market from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The market was free to the public and everyone was is welcome.

Attractions included a pumpkin patch, sponsored by All Seasons Nursery, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, and pumpkin painting.

The Cypress Mountain Boys performed from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. after the Cajun Music Jam.

"These vendors are our regular vendors, but today, we wanted to kind of try and see what we can do to encourage more guests to come out," explained Mark Hernandez, Marketing Director for Lafayette Farmers & Artisans Market.

In honor of World Food Day, there was a host of international food vendors with offerings from across the globe, including Thailand, Guatemala, Iran, Mexico, and more. Cooking demonstrations were offered from J&J Indian Taco, ThaiHey Thai Food, and local Chef Bourque.
