The 2019 Festival Acadiens et Creoles official poster and pin were revealed in a ceremony last night at the Hilliard Art Museum's A. Hays Town Home.

The artist of this year's poster is Melissa Bonin.

Bonin is a New Iberia native. The event also served as the opening of "songbirds: Nature as Metaphor" exhibit of paintings by Bonin.

Sponsors of the event include the Center for Louisiana Studies, Haynie Family Foundation, and Hilliard University Art Museum.

Pins and posters were for sale during the event.

"Songbirds: Nature as Metaphor" will be on display through October 13.

Festival Acadiens et Creoles was officially established in 1977, and can trace its roots back to the first Tribute to Cajun Music Festival organized by CODOFIL in 1974.

Now, it's a multi-day event taking place during the second full weekend in October in Lafayette.
