At tonight's Lafayette City-Parish Council meeting, the members voted to defer a resolution calling on Cupid to perform on the main stage at Festival International next year.
The resolution was deferred until the next council meeting.
Councilman Kenneth Boudreaux, who authored the resolution, said the decision to defer came after a productive meeting with festival staff.
However, Cupid was recognized at tonight's meeting with a Super Ambassador Award for the positive recognition his work brings to Lafayette.
