A Lafayette businesswoman celebrated a very special birthday on Saturday.
Claire Ashy turned 89 years old, and her family held a drive-by parade to celebrate.
Family met at St. Mary's Church in Lafayette and proceeded past the family's home to wish Mrs. Ashy a happy birthday. She was quite surprised by the celebration.
"I was expecting two hamburgers from Judice Inn from my granddaughter," Mrs. Ashy said. "And this is what I get. It's indescribable the feeling that I have today."
Claire and her husband, Doug Ashy, are the founders of Doug Ashy Building Materials, that has been serving the Acadiana community for 60 years.
