In Downtown Lafayette, the first Artwalk of 2020 is underway after a ribbon cutting at The Halo Building.

The ribbon cutting celebrated the completion of the façade improvement at the building. It was followed by an open house where guests were able to enjoy refreshments and explore the building.

The Halo Building is a collaborative studio and movement space that houses The Ballet Académie, Basin Arts, and The Music Room.

Artwalk is held every second Saturday of the month and allows artists to interact with the public as they show off their paintings and share their inspirations.

The ribbon cutting was held to "celebrate a few things, one being the mural...that artist Brett Chigoy created for us. It's sort of a branding for the building, giving it the name Halo Building," explained Gina Hanchey, owner and director of The Halo Building.
