Arrest made in Wednesday night stabbing incident in Lafayette

Lafayette Police have arrested one man on an attempted second degree murder charge after responding to a disturbance call Wednesday night.

Police were called to a convenience store in the 2300 block of E. Simcoe St. for a disturbance taking place between two men.

Officers found a victim on scene suffering from several stab wounds. The suspect had fled the scene prior to officers' arrival, according to LPD.

The victim was treated on scene for his injuries and shortly after was transported to a local hospital.

While police were investigating the incident, the suspect, identified as 51-year-old Eddie Sloan, returned to the scene and was taken into custody without incident.

Sloan is facing one charge of attempted second degree murder. No bond has been set at this time.
