Jennings Police have arrested one man after an officer became suspicious of possible criminal activity during a traffic stop.

Police say an officer stopped a vehicle at 5:30 Wednesday morning; during the course of the traffic stop, the officer became suspicious of possible criminal activity.

The officer learned the driver, identified as 67-year-old John Breaux of Jennings, was a registered sex offender and the passenger in the vehicle was a juvenile.

After further investigation, police learned that prior to the stop, Breaux had offered the juvenile into his residence, where he locked the door and performed a sexual act on the juvenile.

The officer discovered Breaux was a Tier II Sex Offender for Molestation of a Juvenile.

Breaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail, where he was booked with Sexual Battery, Second Degree Kidnapping, Tail Lamps, and No Insurance.
