The late George Rodrigue was honored Friday night in New Iberia on what would have been his 76th birthday.
Guests enjoyed good food, 1944-era music, and party games at the BLUE birthday party held at the Bayou Teche Trading Company.
In lieu of a gift, party goers were asked to donate to the George Rodrigue Park, located on Main Street in New Iberia.
"It might be one of the last parties in awhile, and so we hope that everybody just has a good time and we really celebrate a gifted artist," explained Paul Schexnayder, Chairman of the Blue Dog Park Committee.
Rodrigue, a New Iberia native, died in 2013.
