The Iberia Parish School Board has approved a change to the current school day schedule.
At a board meeting tonight, members approved to move from a four-block schedule to students having seven classes a day.
The board heard from parents, students, and teachers last week who were both for and against the proposed change.
Some believed that students on a seven-class schedule performed better on state tests and the ACT.
Others, though, worried that students might have a hard time keeping up with the change.
The proposal will affect all of the district's public schools.
