UPDATE: The Keeping Baby Safe event set for today has been canceled. Organizers say they hope to reschedule the event for next year, and will announce a date as soon as possible.
Families Helping Families of Acadiana is hosting a Keeping Baby Safe workshop on Saturday at the Cyr Gates Community Center at Iberia City Park in New Iberia.
It begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
The educational event will instruct parents and guardians on safe sleep, car seat safety, smoking cessation, and self-care.
There will also be a car seat inspector to show parents how to properly restrain children in car seats.
The event is free, but those interested are asked to register online here.
Lunch will be provided.
