A juvenile student has been arrested after allegedly bringing a gun to Sam Houston High School.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Deputies were called to the school on Friday, November 15, around 2 p.m. after receiving a call that a 17-year-old had a gun at school.
When detectives arrived, they learned several students had reported to school administrators that a student had a gun tucked in the waistband of his pants.
After the police recovered the gun, a Co2-powered pellet pistol, the student began fighting with the principal and the CPSO school resource officer.
The student was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with Resisting Arrest and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in a Firearm Free Zone.
