The Midland High School community is mourning the loss of two recent graduates who died in a single vehicle crash on Sunday night.

The crash happened on I-10 at Exit 76.

Troopers say the driver lost control getting off of the interstate and they believe speed played a major factor in the crash.

19-year-old Kylan Mier and 19-year-old Dante Lacomb, both of Morse, were killed in the crash.

A vigil was held Tuesday evening at the school.

The Mire and Lacomb families grateful for the embrace.

"It means a lot of support, it means a lot of hugs, a lot of help. It means everything," said Elise Schaefer, Kylan's fiance.

Breana Larry, Dante's sister said her brother was known for his dancing skills and being the life of the party.

"Dante had a lot of friends. Dante was a very sweet person and you could count on him for anything," said Larry.

As for Kylan, one week ago, he proposed to his fiance Elise. The two were raising their young boy.

"He loved me no matter what and through everything. I hope he grows up to be just like his dad. His dad was such a great person and I hope he lives on through him," said Schaefer.

Both young men will be laid to rest on Thursday.
