The Mardi Gras celebrations continued Saturday in Rayne, but before people headed out to the parade, they tried to warm up with some gumbo.
Today's celebration ahead of the parade was held at Gossen Memorial Park on Frog Festival Drive.
One parade attendee loves this time of year because it allows people to relax and have fun.
"Life is so serious, but sometimes you have to take yourself not so serious," said Sheree Simmons. "These events help people let loose, relax, and enjoy the moment."
