Acadia Parish candidate forum being held tonight in Crowley

Acadia Parish Candidate Forum

The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce is presenting the Acadia Parish Candidate Forum tonight, September 11 at the Grand Opera House of the South.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30. A social for candidates and Chamber members starts at 5:00.

Participating in the forum are candidates for State Senator 25th Senatorial District; Acadia Parish Clerk of Court; and Police Juror Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

State Senator candidates will draw numbers to determine the order of opening remarks and then questions will be selected at random. Two minute will be allotted for opening statements; two questions will be given to each candidate and they will be given two minutes to respond. Closing statements will also last two minutes.

Candidates for Acadia Parish Police Jury and Acadia Parish Clerk of Court who are seeking a contested seat will be allowed two minutes to address the audience.

Police Jury candidates will be recognized in order of district, then in alphabetical order.

Clerk of Court candidates will be recognized in alphabetical order.

The forum is open to the public and will is free of charge.
