Youngsville Sports Complex to host Mustang World Series this week

YOUNGSVILLE, La. - The Youngsville Sports Complex is hosting the PONY Mustang World Series August 2- 5, 2019. International teams from the Philippines, Dominican Republic and Mexico, will be attending, as well as throughout the U.S. including East Zone: Bronx, NY, West Zone: Placentia, CA, North Zone: Chicago, IL and South Zone: Medina Valley, TX. The host team for the tournament is the Youngsville 10U All Stars. All eight teams will be competing for the title of 2019 PONY Mustang World Series Champion.

The opening ceremony will kick off the event this Friday, August 2 at 4:30pm at the Lafayette General Health field. Games take place Friday and Saturday 6pm and 8pm, Sunday 10am, 12pm and 6pm. The games will continue through Monday, August 5 at 10am with the championship game at 6pm at Assurance Financial field. This event marks the third World Series event in three weeks at the Youngsville Sports Complex.

Admission is free to the public. Souvenir programs will be sold for $5.

This year Coach Tony Robichaux is being remembered and honored in all World Series programs for his many contributions to the youth programs at YSC and the city of Youngsville. Coach Robe's twin brother, Tim Robichaux, who is also a baseball coach, is Director of the Youngsville Sports Complex since its inception in January of 2014.
