LAFAYETTE, La. — United Way of Acadiana's Women United announced Friday the 2020 Women Who Mean Business Awards.
United Way of Acadiana recognizes ten accomplished women who have made a difference in their community. The organization is hosting this event for the third year, continuing Acadiana's time honored tradition.
This year’s event will be held virtually due to COVID-19 via United Way’s Facebook page on Wednesday, December 9 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
The following women will be honored:

Superintendent of Schools, Lafayette Parish School System
“Each of these women has made an incredible impact in their own community, and I am honored that we will be able to honor them for their work,” said Carlee Alm-LaBar, President/CEO of United Way of Acadiana. “This group truly embodies what it means to be a Woman Who Mean Business, inspiring positive change within their own space.”
Women United chair Miriam Bourgeois added, “So many inspirational women were nominated, and we are eager to acknowledge these women’s accomplishments at this year’s event. Women United has a longstanding history of joining women together for the betterment of our communities, and we are thrilled to add these ten women to our ranks.”
