A vigil is taking place in Lafayette Friday in honor of Trayford Pellerin, who was shot and killed by Lafayette Police two weeks ago tonight.

Pellerin's family and community activists are calling for accountability. They gathered outside the Shell gas station, many holding signs saying, "Black Lives Matter" and "No justice, no peace."

Tonight's vigil is organized by The Village and the Lafayette NAACP.

The vigil is to remember Pellerin, and is the second vigil held at the gas station since his death. We're told guest speakers will be talking throughout the evening about Pellerin and their requests from LPD regarding de-escalating situations to avoid shootings like Pellerin's.

KATC's Eman Boyd is live at tonight's vigil and will have more tonight at 10.
