Downtown Lafayette service industry workers affected by COVID-19 are getting some support from a 14-day digital fundraiser.
The 'Lost My Tips Fund' initiative aims to provide financial support to employees of locally owned restaurants and bars in downtown Lafayette
Social Entertainment, the organization spearheading the initiative, says the goal is to raise $30,000 with the help of the community.
The fundraiser began on Monday, April 6 at 9:00 am and has already raised $15,000 through donations from supporting businesses.
Last month, Social Entertainment held a fundraiser to support local musicians out of work due to COVID-19. The 'Lost My Gig Fund' resulted in $33,925 in funds raised to support 106 full time, local musicians.
Donations can be made to the 'Lost My Tips Fund' on the Social Entertainment Facebook page or via the United Way Website.
