Lafayette Consolidated Government held its weekly press briefing on Tuesday, November 17.
The 1:00 pm press conference focused on the number of cases of COVID-19 in the parish and touched on the continued clean up efforts from Hurricanes Laura and Delta.

Crews have started picking up construction debris left behind by Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
LCG says that anyone needing this type of debris picked up should call 337- 291-8517 or call 311.
An email address for debris pickup will be available soon, they say.
A mask mandate is still in effect in the parish and LCG says that residents should still continue to follow that order and maintain a 6-foot distance when possible.
With the holidays quickly approaching, officials are asking that families keep their gatherings to a minimum in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.
LCG says that complaints pertaining to over-capacity and non-compliance of businesses still being investigated in the parish.
Anyone who sees a business not complying should report violations at 337-291-5060.
Businesses found in violation by investigating agencies could have their operating licenses revoked, according to LCG.
When asked about parades and whether they will be canceled for the upcoming Mardi Gras season, Chief Communications Officer Jamie Angelle said LCG has no intention of canceling any parades at this time.
On Tuesday, New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell announced that parades would not be permitted during the 2021 Mardi Gras season in New Orleans due to COVID-19.
