In the aftermath of Hurricane Delta, a Lafayette woman is helping her community by providing hot meals.
Wanda Clemons is feeding some in her area who were left without a way to enjoy a home-cooked meal after the storm.
Clemons set up at the old Shoney's on the Evangeline Thruway with a goal of serving 100 people. On Thursday's menu was gumbo.
Clemons, who is the CEO of a non-profit organization called Wanda's Blessing, explained that the effort is just her way of helping out.
"It's a job that you have to do. You have to go out there and feed people," she said. "I get three meals a day, and it's just one meal that I can give to them. And once I give it to them, I feel so good. I feel so good."
