Fundraiser for Addi Jo's Footprints

Spare Some Love, the first fundraiser for a new Acadiana non-profit, begins at 1:30 p.m. today.

The event, which will be held at Rock 'n' Bowl de Lafayette, will raise funds for Addi Jo's Footprints.

The ticket will cover admission to a silent auction, face painting, ballon artist, and entertainment from the popular local band, Nik L Beer. Bowling is not included. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event.

All proceeds will go towards helping Louisiana families of special needs children pay for services and equipment that are not covered on their insurance plans.

Kelly Czerwinski says the nonprofit was formed to honor her daughter, who passed away aged 19 months in March 28.

"Our mission is to help families of special needs children pay for equipment and services that are not covered on their insurance plan. Our daughter was born with a very rare syndrome and several of her therapies and even her hearing aids were not covered on our private insurance plan," she explains. "We did not qualify for government assistance. We created our nonprofit to help alleviate some of the financial burden that is placed on these families."

The event lasts until 4 p.m.
