Former Lafayette resident John Merrifield presented his creation to Cite des Arts tonight - Oof. A Comedy Game Show.
Now a resident of Brooklyn, Merrifield is a comedian and internet creator of populur groups such as "Cajuuun Memes." His latest creation is Oof.
Merrifield hosted, and local comedians Ken Edwards, Charles-Thomas Vidrine, Tyler Arceneaux, Joey Thibodeaux, and Sarah Brown were featured.
But anyone in the audience could participate, as three people were selected randomly to read tickets written by the comedians. Each comedian got points based on the audience reaction to their jokes being read by strangers.
"Basically I started this as a way for me to get my jokes out there without actually having to tell them myself," Merrifield explains. "So I had other people read them, and then it kind of just snowballed into a game show - and here we are."
