One Lafayette family didn't let the coronavirus pandemic stop them from celebrating a special birthday.
Mandy Francis took the family to visit her father, who lives at Eastridge Nursing Home in Lafayette.
The family made signs and sang happy birthday - from a safe distance. The family stood outside her father's window as they celebrated.
Mandy says it's hard celebrating the special occasion from a distance.
"We cannot even give him a birthday gift or nothing. This is all we can do right now. We can't drop anything off to the nursing home, and it's understandable, because they're trying to keep them safe, but it's hard. It's real hard," Francis said.
