The National Hurricane Center is continuing to monitor an area of tropical moisture that is expected to push west and into the Gulf of Mexico, giving this wave about a 60% chance of development over the next five days.

While the development chances have crept up over the last couple of days the impacts that the Gulf Coast are facing haven't really changed from what has been discussed all week.

Over the last several days there's been mention of a push of tropical moisture getting into the Gulf and providing many of the Gulf states with rounds of rain starting this weekend and lasting into next week.

Rain totals for Acadiana don't look overly impressive and will be on the magnitude of about a half inch to an inch over a five day time span, meaning we could see a little pooling associated with some of the heavier rain, but nothing widespread.

There isn't any model support for a quickly strengthening system and the forecast has largely stayed the same over the last couple of days building a decent bit of confidence.
