A vigil was held Friday night for a 13-year-old boy who died in a shooting Sunday.

Family, friends, and community members gathered on Johnston St. in New Iberia, where the young Demarcus Brown, Jr. was shot.

Attendees held balloons and candles as they remembered Demarcus.

He and his brother, 18-year-old Tre'gon Norman, were shot on Sunday around 7 p.m. Tre'gon remains in the hospital in a coma.

The vigil was originally supposed to take place on Tuesday, but was postponed.

Family members say the brothers were very close, and are begging for anyone with information to come forward.
