A second person has been arrested in Jeanerette in connection with the alleged rape of a child.
On February 19, 2021 Jeanerette Police arrested Matthew Knight on a charge of first degree rape.
During the course of that investigation Marshal Fernest “Pac Man” Martin with The Jeanerette Marshal’s Office says they learned that an adult male relative of Matthew Knight was also allegedly raping the minor child.
The child according to previous reports was 9 years old. The Jeanerette Marshal’s Office believe those acts date back to April 2020.
The relative was identified as 19-year-old Michael Knight. On Monday, February 22, 2021, Michael Knight was arrested for 10 counts of first degree rape by the Jeanerette Marshal’s Office.
