Jeanerette City Police have arrested one man following an investigation into a complaint received on February 18 of alleged indecent behavior with a juvenile.
During the investigation, Jeanerette Police say they learned the suspect, identified as Matthew Knight, had "performed sexual acts" with a nine-year-old over the course of the past few months.
Knight was charged with first degree rape and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail, police say.
Jeanerette City Marshal Fernest "Pac-Man" Martin and the Jeanerette City Marshal's Office assisted in the investigation.
