A second positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Iberia Parish.
Parish President Larry Richard says that these cases are not being treated at Iberia Medical Center.
Richard says that they have been planning for the moment when positive cases are detected and are prepared to limit the spread.
"I am in constant contact with the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Dr. Tina Stefanski and her staff at the Office of Public health," Richard said.
The parish will continue to conduct regular briefings with local school, municipal and law enforcement officials.
